(Los Angeles, California May 4, 2012) The Gracie Worlds will continue to set the standard for Jiu-Jitsu and Grappling tournaments when they make their San Jose debut in conjunction with California’s premier fitness event, TheFitExpo™, Saturday and Sunday, July 14-15, 2012 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, 150 West San Carlos, San Jose in Halls 1 & 2.

“We’re honored to once again be working with Rose Gracie from the legendary Gracie family on hosting The Gracie Worlds,” said TheFitExpo Executive Director, Erin Ferries. “We’re thrilled to have such an important event at our debut San Jose Expo. We love the synergy they create for competitors and attendees alike.”

Rose Gracie made significant changes to the rules of both adult and child competitions at the Gracie US Nationals in January 2012 as her desire is to bring back the original Jiu-Jitsu that her grandfather, Grandmaster Helio Gracie, envisioned from the beginning. “These changes were much needed in the sport and they were received with praise by the Jiu-Jitsu and Grappling community worldwide,” said Gracie. “I cant wait until San Jose, and I am excited that we will have some of my family members including my brother Ryron and my cousin Kron competing this year. “

“My events are setting the new standard of what competitions should be like,” Rose Gracie continued. “I am persistent enough to know that I will change Jiu-Jitsu and Grappling forever. I feel like I owe it to these folks that get on the mat every day to celebrate such an amazing art.”

Gracie will once again work with the TheFitExpo to create the ideal environment and venue for a top-notch competition. TheFitExpo is bringing industry leaders together for a weekend of Jiu-Jitsu, Mixed Martial Arts, fitness challenges and much more.

Registration for adults and kids to compete in The Gracie Worlds ends on July 10, 2012. More information can be found at gracietournaments.com.

TheFitExpo adult tickets, which include admittance to all the competitions including The Gracie Worlds, are $20 per day or $30 for the full weekend. Children 12 years and under are $10 per day and children 6 and under are free. Show hours are Saturday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM and Sunday, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Plenty of parking is available.

For more information on TheFitExpo ticketing, exhibiting or sponsorship opportunities, call (818) 545-0290 or visit www.thefitexpo.com.

Event is produced by National Fitness Productions, presented by Bodybuilding.com and sponsored by Subway Restaurants, GNC, MET-Rx, Gaspari Nutrition, Pure Protein, Body Fortress, Muscle Milk, Iron Man Magazine, MMA Worldwide, Ironmind, Sherdog and Hit What’s Hot.

PRESS RELEASE:

Birmingham, UK – April 2, 2012 – KO Bullying has joined forces with The MMA Show Live, becoming their Official Children’s Charity Partner. The partnership is designed to raise awareness for the campaign amongst the UK’s MMA fan base. The MMA Show Live is being held May 12 – 13 at The NEC in Birmingham.

Supported by UK charity Kidscape, KO Bullying is an inspirational campaign with one aim, to put a stop to bullying by promoting respect, understanding and self-confidence. The sad facts are that 1 in 12 children in the UK will be bullied so badly this year that it impacts their education, whilst 14 youth suicides a year are directly linked to bullying.

By working with both the bullies and their victims, KO Bullying aims to teach and promote the principles of mixed martial arts, which are based on respect for oneself and others. Already fighters such as Ross Pearson, Dean Amasinger and Brad Pickett have pledged their support to the campaign. All of who will be helping to raise awareness for the campaign at The MMA Show Live.

Matt Walton, president for KO Bullying, said: “Martial Arts when taught correctly is great for teaching confidence and respect to replace fear, anger and low self esteem. It is a void that can’t always be filled by teachers or parents and one that unfortunately leads to bullying and aggressive behavior. By teaching MMA we can promote discipline, respect and confidence to create young people with a greater awareness of themselves and others.”

“I’m delighted that The MMA Show Live is supporting the campaign. Our goal now is to raise awareness and funds so we can begin to roll out pilot workshops across the country. I’ve no doubt that MMA can have a positive impact on society, in particular our younger generations.”

KO Bullying will be hosting several training sessions at The MMA Show Live for children attending with their families. The sessions will be coordinated by the likes of Brad Pickett, Ross Pearson and Dean Amasinger, who are ambassadors for the campaign.

The MMA Show Live will also be hosting a very special prize draw on the final day of the expo where one lucky winner will walk away with a plethora of limited edition and signed merchandise donated by the exhibitors and fighters attending the show.

Liam Fisher, the organizer of The MMA Show Live said “We are very excited to be working with KO Bullying to help raise awareness and money for such a great campaign. It is a personal goal of mine to show the general public of the UK that MMA can be a very positive part of people’s lives. The MMA community should do things to raise the profile of this great sport. I am deeply passionate about this campaign in particular. I truly believe that MMA is the perfect sport to help build confidence and teach discipline to children.”

Tickets are available now from The Ticket Factory at http://bit.ly/xXUcfa or from the 24 hour ticket hotline on 0844 338 0338.

San Francisco, CA. – February 2, 2012 – Kountermove is very proud to announce that Randy “The Natural” Couture and his son Ryan Couture will be hosting a Kountermove charity tournament during UFC® 143 to benefit the ‘It Ain’t Chemo’ foundation. The charity aids families with loved ones that are battling cancer.

The tournament, Randy Couture’s “It Ain’t Chemo” Charity Tournament has a $1,500 prize pool and top prize of $540. The entry fee is $10. All Kountermove proceeds from the tournament will be donated to ‘It Ain’t Chemo.’

‘It Ain’t Chemo’ is an organization that provides cancer patients with comfort and care supplies, advice, and emotional support. Founded by firefighter and cancer survivor Kevin Hoyt, the charity raises awareness for its cause through the endorsements of local and national celebrities including Randy Couture, Forrest Griffin, Martin Kampmann, Clay Guida, Kevin Randleman and many others.

According to Aaron Ard, co-founder of Kountermove, “We are thrilled to put together a tournament hosted by Randy and Ryan Couture for such a worthy cause. All proceeds from the 165 player Kountermove tournament will go to ‘It Aint Chemo’ to benefit families with loved ones going through chemotherapy.”

Kountermove’s fantasy MMA games work very similar to fantasy football. Members draft a team of fighters and compete with that team against other Kountermove players in their league. Members have a $25,000 “salary cap” when drafting their fantasy team of fighters, each fighter has a “salary” designated by Kountermove. Members choose from free or entry fee games of varying sizes.

Winners and losers are then determined by fantasy points earned based on each fighter’s performance – strikes landed, submission attempts, knockdowns, dominant positions, rounds won, and knockout or submission bonuses.

After each event, Kountermove updates game results by listing the points members received for that event, the rankings, and prize pool winners. All entry fees are added into a prize pool that is divided among the league’s winners at the end of the game. Visit www.kountermove.com for full details on the Kountermove fantasy MMA scoring system.

To enter Randy Couture’s “It ain’t Chemo” Kountermove Charity Tournament please log on to www.kountermove.com, click on the tournament link, and draft your Fantasy MMA team! Have fun playing fantasy MMA while giving back to those in need!

About Kountermove:

About ‘It Ain’t Chemo’:
It Ain’t Chemo™ is a boots on the ground non-profit (applied for) organization in Las Vegas, Nevada that directly supplies patients with comfort items, advice and emotional support. Launched in January 2010 by Kevin Hoyt, cancer survivor and Las Vegas resident, the idea for It Ain´t Chemo™ came about in 2002 when after a very bad day Hoyt said, “Well, it ain’t chemo.” As a member of the fire service for more than 20 years, including four years in the United States Air Force, Hoyt brings his firefighting heritage into play by going directly to the people who are suffering. While holding no contempt for organizations that commit funds to research, Team It Ain´t Chemo™ is a hands-on response-type of organization.

Operating completely anonymously for the past four years, Hoyt personally visits cancer patients who are currently undergoing chemotherapy, radiation therapy or who are confined to their homes. With the permission of their doctors, Hoyt brings them what he now calls IAC™ Packs containing blankets vitamins, books, movies, tips and advice on dealing with cancer treatment side effects. Hoyt also provides patients with his own personal contact information to let them know that he will be there if they need him, any time…day or night.

PRESS RELEASE: – January 26, 2012

Las Vegas, NV – Tuff-N-Uff is proud to announce that UFC Veteran Frank Trigg will join John Morgan from Mmajunkie.com to call the action live tomorrow night from South Point Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada for “Tuff-N-Uff: Beauties, Beasts and Beers.” The event will air live on Blackbelt Television starting at 8pm PST/11pm EST.

According to Frank Trigg, “I’m definitely looking forward to calling the action at the Tuff-N-Uff event this Friday night with John Morgan. The card is stacked with competitive fights in both the men’s and women’s divisions. It’s going to be a great night of fights! Tune in to watch the live MMA action on Blackbelt TV.”

The event will feature six beauties in a trio of female fights, 18 beasts competing in nine men’s MMA contests and a sampling of six different beers, which will be part of a complimentary sampling menu available to all ticket holders. The promotion will also be hosting an official “Beauties, Beasts and Beers” pre-party, featuring live music and the start of the evening’s beer tasting.

The night’s featured female fight pits Reign Training Center’s Rachael Cummins (0-1) against Legends MMA product Kristi Lopez (1-0), who in February earned a TKO win in her amateur MMA debut. Fans can expect an all-out war when these ladies face off in the cage.

The night’s lineup of “Beasts” is headlined by a featherweight title fight as once-beaten champion Cesar Campos (9-1) takes on hard-hitting 10th Planet Riverside product Trace Gray (8-2). Campos, a five-time Tuff-N-Uff veteran, went 8-0 in 2011 and looks primed for a successful professional career, but Gray – the current California Amateur Mixed Martial Arts Organization (CAMO) lightweight state champion – will certainly provide a stern test, as evidenced by his previous four hard-fought wins under the Tuff-N-Uff banner.

In addition to the night’s featured contests, a full lineup of aspiring amateur fighters from some of the world’s top academies – including 10th Planet Riverside, Cascao Jiu-Jitsu, Legends MMA, Team Beastman, Throwdown, Wand Fight Team and Xtreme Couture – will compete at Tuff-N-Uff’s Jan. 27 event. The full fight card is available for viewing at www.TuffNUff.net.

Tickets for “Tuff-N-Uff: Beauties, Beasts and Beers” start at just $25 and can be purchased by calling the South Point Arena Box Office at 702-797-8055 at or online at www.SouthPointArena.com and www.TuffNUff.net. The pre-party kicks off on Jan. 27 at 6 p.m. PT local time.

For more information on the event please visit www.TuffNUff.net. For more information on Frank Trigg, please visit www.Franktrigg.com or follow him on Twitter @FRANKTRIGG.
